The aim of the project is to improve the implementation of wind farms in order to achieve renewable generation targets, contributing to the decarbonisation process and facilitating the social acceptance of these projects. It also seeks to collaborate with the different agents involved to reduce the complexity of the administrative procedures to which wind projects are subject.

Project description

Wind energy is the technology that is expected to provide the largest contribution to the EU's renewable energy targets, enabling regions to meet climate and growth targets in line with the Green Deal.

At present, wind farm deployment remains lower than necessary to meet climate targets in many territories. To improve this, the BIOWIND Project will address two very important and interrelated factors that hinder wind generation at the territorial level, namely opposition from local communities and complicated permitting procedures.
