Conference Energy: A key element in the development of the Territory

The next 27 March will be held the Day Energy: A key element in the Territory's development organised by Asturias XXI Commitment in collaboration with the Spanish Energy Club, FAEN and the Gijón Chamber of Commerce. The event will discuss the realities of energy projects in Asturias that are shaping the transformation that will be key to the development of a green, sustainable and benchmark industry in Europe in the region.

Asturias is a region with a long industrial tradition, and in recent years it has been affected by the change of energy model that is taking place worldwide, which has led to an accelerated decarbonisation process and the need to adapt to new business models and greater sustainability.

The importance of the energy industry in Asturias is largely due to the presence of natural resources such as coal and hydroelectric power, which have been fundamental for the economic and social development of the region. However, Asturian industry is currently facing the challenge of decarbonisation and the transition to cleaner and more sustainable energies.

This transformation process is driving the development of new business models in the energy sector, based on renewable energy generation and energy efficiency, which is generating new employment opportunities and economic growth in the region.

Moreover, sustainability has become a key issue for the future development of Asturian industry, which must adopt more responsible and environmentally friendly practices to ensure its long-term viability.

In order to meet the challenges we face as an industrial region and to do so within the roadmap set by the EU, it has been and will be necessary to implement plans and technological investments that will transform our region. In this conference we will discuss and make visible the realities and challenges that will lead us to achieve this process.
